The low intensity lighting over the dining area was unsatisfactory for reading purposes.
I found these mini-halogen spot lamps a Lowes.
They're wired in parallel to the existing lamp and each has it's own push button on/off switch.

If I were to do it over again I would make a small bezel to fit under the fluorescent lamp housing so that there would be more room to run the additional wiring.
All three lamps will run together or independently.

Now we get a nice spot of strong reading light right where we want it:

Rich very nice job!

I added an larger fluorescent light to get more light over the dinette. Actually I added several and then used the smaller ones to replace the dual and single bulb fixtures. Now I have all but two being fluorescent. Fluorescence's put out twice the lumen's for the same power used and have less heat too.

I have been experimenting with stage lighting gels to modify the light color. This is a bit of trial and error. I think it will yield a better more natural light in the TC.

Some questions about those lights. These do not require an transformer due to the fact that they work off of the 12v system is this correct? Did they come with a transformer and you just did not use it? Lastly what model and make are they? Thanks Rich.

I think I may get some for the cab-over as the built in ones are too dim and not very move-able. Actually I think 3 or 4 would be perfect for the cab-over.

P.S. I love your broom.

Allen

The installation was completed last year and I kept the manufacturer's literature until last month when it got tossed.
I'll look for the model number the next time I'm in Lowes.

And the spot light was only available in Lowe's. . .I looked everywhere for something that small and adjustable.
Its actually a tiny table lamp with a transformer. It has a safety sensor switch in the base in case it tips over.

After 10 seconds of experimentation, I tossed the 12vac transformer.
Those little quartz bulbs work on 12 vdc too.

It required that a little hole be drilled in the removable base so that it could be screwed to the ceiling. And thats it.

The Broom is a Harry Potter's broom hand-made by the broom shop in Crawford's Bay in British Columbia. We use it three to five times a day when actively camping.
