It seems like everything on the exterior of the camper has some type of sealant around it. It effectively keeps me from removing stuff I want to change just because of the removing sealant and resealing hassle. What kind of sealant is used at places like jack brackets and electrical outlet cover plates?

Maybe Dicor? At one point they were using Geocel - but I'm not sure that it matters. The stuff still has to be scrapped off. I'd try using a heat gun to soften it while scrapping, then try cleaning with mineral spirits and a rough rag. It's nothing less than tedious time consuming work - but done right, provides some peace of mind when the wet weather hits.

| If its not on the roof I use Geocel, both clear and white. Mineral spirits will melt it away if needed. Mineral spirits will clean the dirty looking surface of the sealant that washing with detergents won't. |

| Thanks Tinbender. The stuff definitely gets a dingy look. I thought it was silicone initially. I'll try the mineral spirits. |
