Does anyone use a trailer, cart, dolly etc to move their camper around when it is off the truck? If so would you please post some photos?
Thanks, Clint

The dolly in the linked post:

The problem with that dolly is that it's too tall. The frame corners should have welded flat triangular sheet steel pieces to which the wheels attach. No legs. They probably have the taller dolly so not to waste time lower/raising the camper.

| I think it has legs because the frame had to have a truss in order to hold the weight. |

| I sure could use one of those camper dollies to move my camper around with. then I could have a shelter build that doesn't have to be 14 feet tall so I can unload it from the truck underneath it. I could just unload it infront of the shelter and roll it back inside or under the roof. |

If you were to purpose build a lower shed I would look into using angle iron placed on the ground with the pointy side up like the letter A. There are wheels that have a groove that fits on top of the angle iron. These roll much better and there is no drifting into the sides of the shed/carport.
There are the angles on the surface which can be a slight tripping hazard if you don't look where you are going. This set up is way cheaper too. Just a thought. |

| know Of what you are talking about we used that system for moveing robots to and away from machines were I worked. I'd reather not have the rails on the floor to be triped over though. I saw a real neat one the other day that looked like it was made from a low triler of some sort. It had what looked like maybe 13" wheels and could be pulled by a car, truck, or small tractor. The front wheels were on a swivle like a farm wagon with a tongue. I didn't have my camera at the time to take a picture. I think I'll talk to a local welding shop and see what it would cost to build one similar to the one in the picture above. |
