To get back on topic somewhat. If you look at the picture of the dinnet slde.In the upper right hand corner you will see that a apiece of the trim board is missing on the slide out. That is due to the slide moveing toward the front wall and scrapping the mirror on the wall and knocking it off. I figure that may be due to the bad frame weld as well. when its off the truck the slide sits evenly between the two walls and does not scrap at all when in operation.
We've thought about just having the slide-out fastened in the in position purmently. but I dought that we'll really do that , we like the extra room the slide gives us. We'll probably keep it in till we can get it fixed right though.

That was my thought too.
New equivalant campers are $34K and up.
Plus your 1150 low wet weight, layout and features just can't be found today.

I think I'll give the company a call sometime soon and see if we can set up a time in May Or June to get the camper fixed.Don't think I can do it any sooner then that.

Just like a few of us have had problems with the crack in the front left corner of the 1150 Just like Jackman took his back to the factory for repairs I did the same with mine. If you look in the General topics forum find the thread that I started "Repairs done at factory" it shows how the factory made the repairs that they did on mine, Also I had a cracked running light and ended up with delamination and water damage in the front part of the camper that they repaired at the same time.

You might want to ask them when the best time for them would be to bring it in.
Camper manufacturers in general have a busy season filling new orders - I think it starts around March and goes to Oct/Nov.
If you bring it in during May or June, you might not see it again for awhile.

Well if that be the case it may be next winter befor I could possibly take it to them. Can't do it this winter thats fore sure. That would give me all summer to save up as much as I can towards the repairs though. I'm retired and dont have a lot of money to throw a round. This was suposed to be our last truck camper. The dealer of coarse told us it was in very good condition. don't know now. Sould have baught a Lance I geuss. At lest I could get it worked on a lot closer then Oregon. Oh well we'll see what the say.

regreb I'm glade to hear that the company did you such a good job. I don't think my insurance co. will cover the cracked frame either. I had an extanded warrenty on my old camper but had droped id after finding out it didn't cover anything but motors, drive trains, transmissions and the like. In other words it really didn't cover anything on a truck camper. It's hard to find decent insurance that will cover what you need covered on any RV. So what I'll end up having to pay around $3000.00 to have the company fix it?

thepadg,
If I remember right it was about a month but I was in no hurry to get it back as I am within about 5 hours of them and that was to have them fix both the front cap and the crack along with fighting with my insurance company. I think the actual work on the crack was about a week but like Rich said about busy time, It was end of the summer when I took it to them and it was when the economy first started to dump so they were not real busy. Mony would be able to tell you just how long it would take to fix.

I Emailed the company and Bill Napier about getting my EC 1150 fixed at the factory.
Monty Pen told me It would take around 10 hrs to repair the cracked frame. and Bill Napier Said he would have to get with production department for a cost estimate and A time fame when they could do it.
I guess I could take it out there a bout any time now, the weather willing. when ever they want me to bring it. I just have to clear the snow away from it and get it back on the truck.
I guess my main worry about this camper is the floor frameing. if the side frameing wasn't welded right what a bout the floor. After all my camper hangs out 3 1/2 feet from the bed of the truck and we all know that we tend to bounce along the hiways. Even at 55 m/h. And all that weight in the backend. The Waste tanks(which I try to keep as empty as I can when traveling), the Generator, The LP tanks and The batteries.
We truly love the design of this Camper and the interior space it gives us. We entend to hang on to it for a while if we can. While there are alot of things I can fix or modify my self on the camper the frame is not one of them. If I don't hear any thing back from them soon I 'm going to call them and see whats up.

probably the wife had a basket with spoons and spatulas
and turners between the sink and window. She loves the layout of this camper, we can stop at rest parks and use the potty without having to run the slide outeach time.I would think this action would eventually wear out the motor. When using ours it knocks off the trim on the inside above the upper part of the slide. We now just take it off befor we start our trips.
