Proper caulk for outside seams for 3 Generation EC?
#1
I believe the newer model EC's use Silkaflex for outside seams, but I am wondering specifically which one? There are several types and I noticed some seems that need some additional caulk when I was on the room using a cleaner...also when washing the camper saw some cracks in the caulk where the front cap meets the sidewall. I don't want to wait too long to take care of it...heading out for the upcoming weekend.

This is what I have:

Hi there, did you use that caulking? We weren't sure what to get either, wondering if it worked out for ya. Here what you're saying about early prevention measures! Happy trailsSmile

Yes, I just got done caulking with the Silkaflex 505UV on edge seams and I used Silkaflex 715 self leveling roof membrane sealant on the roof seams and screw head locations. Worked well. I was surprised how many areas I had to hit after the EC only being a year old...but this is what needs to be done at least once or twice a year. The roof was pretty good...I cleaned it real good with Protect All Rubber Roof Cleaner yesterday and allowed it to dry until this evening before touching up areas up there.

Next step is to load it, level it, get the fridge going and prep for Thursday evening...headed to Brooks Memorial State Park just north of Goldendale, WA. We will do some hiking and check out the public observatory for some star gazing at night...and some fishing during the day.

I sent an Email to the factory guy the other day and ask the same question about my 2011 EC 850 and they replied Dicor was used. I have used dyco too and it appeared to work fine Now I have the TPO roof so it takes a little different type. Idea
