I have 1200 and have recently run into issues attempting to start my Generator. None of the usual issues are the cause (I have propane, I have oil, filters are fine ...). When I check the generator terminals (under the gen - I have a QG 2500 LP generator) I see 0 volts. When I check at the battery I have full charge (13+ v). The connections on the generator and battery look good. I'm now wondering if there is an issue with the transfer switch. When I plug in shore power, things work as expected. So, I need to try and check out connections on the transfer switch (or do some trouble shooting on the switch). I have 1200 and need to know where I can find the switch - and I assume it's buried somewhere that is NOT going to be easy to get to. Thanks in advance. wtfuller

Love to help but from your description I cant be sure what you’re asking…

Sounds like the genny wont start, or it does start but doesn’t supply any power…

Do you have a ‘pass-thru’ type inverter??…If so, it’ll have it’s own ATS too…

I would start the genny with shore power connected, then unplug shore power and see if you still have uninterrupted 120v in the coach - If not, it could be the ATS switch..
Thanks for the response.

Basic question is "Where do I find the ATS in the 1200?". It must be buried behind some panel in the basement. I've looked a bit, but haven't located it.

Yes, the ultimate issue is the Gen won't start. It doesn't turn over, nothing. When I press on the Prime switch nothing happens (light on the switch never comes on). I don't believe the ATS is the issue, but want to find it to check conditions and connections.

Gen has started in the past, so not sure why it won't start now (and yes, I've checked propane levels, filters, oil ... ).

Thanks again and thanks in advance for any additional thoughts or advice.

Well I didn’t order an onboard genny, but my ATS switch is mounted inside the genny box, so I don’t know if that is much help, but the problem you describe would first lead me to investigate the 12v start circuit rather than the 120v output ATS which I see as more of a red herring (a first things first thingy…)… What is it about this circuit that may have experienced a mechanical change (??), except possibly for battery voltage…Knowing little about the Onan, I found a bunch of ‘Onan won’t start’ hits on Youtube - I did notice on one site that there’s an automatic transmission interlock:
