It is a mystery as to why that is there. They did talk about it some on the article you referred to. There is nothing behind the screen save for a 1/2" copper tube, a 1" clear tube and a bundle of wires.

Thanks testdog. I've realized my problem. I thought my truck was not supplying power to camper with key off but after another test I discovered that was wrong, therefore the camper lights still work with battery disconnect pushed in. Now I have the chore I've putting in some type of isolator for my truck batteries. This note added 9-4-17
