I removed the factory bump stops and installed some rubber bumpers.  This allow the camper to move foreword about 2". A definite improvement.  Any time I can move the center of gravity FWD 2" so easy is a must do to me.

I cut about 1/4"-1/2" of material out of the flange that extends fwd. This allows the side to bend in more. and the cuts are at a 45 degree angle so it can get closer and over lap.  Works for us.

I have a 2014 F 350 dually with Timbren bump stops, and Torklift overload spring bump stops. 2016 - 1165.
I wanted to move move the camper further forward, but my tail lights are too close, so I just allow the factory front stops to just touch the front of the bed. I am still 7" rearward of the center of gravity. I don't like the way the rear end sags when I lower the jacks, but it handles well on the highway.
